New term alert

I just discussed a new term with Galen and Brandon at work, and I think there is huge potential:

"NPR Lunch"

When no one is free to go to lunch at work, I dine with Terry Gross or Ira Glass. They are always available :)

Jillian and RFP

Today my sister Jillian gave her group presentation for RFP in her grad program. I think most people who read my blog probably know about RFP, but just in case you do not, it is a very big deal. So I just wanted to make a post about how proud I am of her. Despite the huge amounts of preparation and stress that go along with this presentation, she did an awesome job. So congratulations to her and the rest of her group! No disrespect to the other groups, but I am clearly biased here :)

This is an awesome Radiolab podcast that Andrea recommended to me. It is about randomness and improbability. Humans are generally terrible at estimating probability and have a tendency to seek patterns. That is just a recipe for trouble :)
